AXL ROSE's 'Mood Swings'

June 7, 2009

According to the New York Daily News, GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose has "fired and rehired" famed manager Irving Azoff at least three times in the last five weeks, according to a source. The reclusive rocker is said to be resisting Azoff's pleas to try to revive sales of the band's recent album, "Chinese Democracy". "Axl doesn't want anything to do with it," says the insider. "He won't come out of his house."

A source close to Azoff admits, "Axl is Axl. People get hired and fired all the time in this business."

But Azoff's rep says that, as of last week, he and Rose are talking again: "We're in daily contact with Axl, and we look forward to continuing to support him and GUNS N' ROSES."

"Chinese Democracy", the sixth and most recent album from GUNS N' ROSES, was released in its entirety to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content on April 14.

The tracks are available for purchase as an album or individual tracks for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system. The tracks are available for purchase as individual tracks only for Wii.

Aside from Billboard and Spinner interviews and answering a number of fan questions at a GUNS N' ROSES message board, Axl Rose has done no promotion of any kind for "Chinese Democracy".

"Chinese Democracy" was officially certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 3, 2009 for shipments in the United States in excess of one million copies.
